About this deal

As we know from watching the Doctor Who Series 11 Trailer, there’s a new female Doctor and of course she has a new Sonic Screwdriver. Although other species have been seen using similar sonic probes, sonic screwdrivers are predominantly referred to as Gallifreyan technology. When combined with his Sonic Sunglasses, the Doctor looks exactly like a flashy guy who would use “Doctor Disco” as a nickname.

Since then, the sonic screwdriver has been a steadfast companion to almost all the Doctors, proving its worth time and time again! However, it did have much more extensive scanning, diagnostic and medical capabilities and could act as a remote control for some TARDIS functions. For a while, it looked like he really meant it – he even got into the wearable tech trend by creating a pair of sonic sunglasses with similar functions as a replacement. And the design does fit the Sonic Screwdriver’s more multi-functional, Swiss army knife nature than simply being a generic alien analysis tool. The Doctor left the shields on the TARDIS down, causing it to crash through four different time periods at the same time, and the Doctor Who Trans-Temporal Sonic Screwdriver Prop Replica reveals what the outcome would be for the iconic sonic screwdriver. Very rarely does a Sonic Screwdriver have the honor of being wielded by two Time Lords, yet this is the distinction this design had with the 9th and 10th Doctor. Even if you'd only caught a single episode of Doctor Who, chances are you'd have spotted the compact device the Doctor frequently brandishes. Is it just me or does this Seven20 one look more like a prototype picture than COs, which looks more like a proper photo?

A word of advice for any aspiring monsters out there: if you’re looking to prevent an adventurous Time Lord and their companion from breaching your base, bunker or spaceship, invest in some wooden doors! A clone of the Second Doctor also possessed his own sonic screwdriver, which he used along with the Fourth Doctor's to send Hexford home. Prop designer Arwel Wyn Jones talked through the new sonic; “It’s a privilege to have been asked to redesign the iconic sonic screwdriver for the Thirteenth Doctor and a new generation of audiences.

While it doesn’t appear much in the series, the heavy role of the Sonic Screwdriver in the plot does make it special. While almost always referred to as a sonic screwdriver, this device has on occasion been referred to as a sonic probe by people other than the Doctor, such as Dalek Sec ( TV: Doomsday) and a version of Amy Pond who had been stuck on Apalapucia for 36 years.

TV: Fugitive of the Judoon) The Doctor continued to use the model introduced during his third incarnation until it was destroyed in their fifth by a Terileptil leader. If not, and both Seven20 and CO are restricted to their own countries, that’s going to be a problem for me and anyone else outside of the UK or US. However, at least 10 versions have been spotted on screen so far – and that's just those belonging to the Doctor. We would all like to be like the Doctor and have a sonic screwdriver with us at all times, and the Doctor Who Is That A Sonic Screwdriver in Your Pocket T-Shirt lets Whovians get pretty close to that fantasy. This one had a cracked coral handle, and was more closely connected to the TARDIS than before – it could even make new copies on demand. Unlike the 2nd Doctor who had a more “basic” Sonic Screwdriver, the 3rd Doctor really went wild with its capabilities and design. The Doctor claimed to have either invented or designed the specific sonic screwdriver which they owned.

Aside from Jodie Whittaker’s historic moment as the first female Doctor, it’s also the 13th Doctor that has one of the most unique Sonic Screwdriver designs in the series. Does anyone think BBC would allow two, do you think any company would pay huge fees to BBC and have to compete with a slightly different version, on the small scale of Doctor WHO do you think two companies would pay all the development and mold fees separately for just slightly different items. With the trend of Sonic Screwdrivers matching the personalities of their holders, it’s perhaps the one belonging to the 11th Doctor that tops the list. While it was different individual model, for all intents and purposes the War Doctor's sonic was the same as the Eleventh Doctor's some 400 years later. Eventually, the TARDIS presented the Doctor with another revamped model – a slick, metallic blue version with loads of extras attached. The Doctor didn’t replace the sonic for ages – the next time we saw one was when the Seventh Doctor used a similar model to seal a casket containing the Master’s remains.
