Evan Williams Spiced Cider is an all-time favorite flavor-infused bourbon whiskey that is best to enjoy on cold nights. Take that Wild Turkey 101! Oh, but speaking of WT101, for the price, EWBiB has an advantage over its competitors like that. Everything else is subjective between the two. Old Forester 100 proof could also come into the picture and reminds us that it’s around the same age and proof too. Of course I’m going to recommend this bottle. There’s no situation where a bottle like this wouldn’t come in handy. You don’t even have to worry about the cork falling apart if you decide to store it for 10 or 20 years because it’s a screwcap. I just bought my second bottle of this stuff and I love it. I live in BC, Canada, and Evan Williams isn’t widely available. They do however sell it exclusively in my city at one liquor store. I find it sooo much better than other budget bourbons like Jim Beam. Like night and day. I’ve been using it to make old fashioned’s and have not been disappointed. Does alright on it’s own too.This is a cool looking bottle with very fine bourbon inside of it. But when it comes to Buffalo Trace, there are so, so many great bottles to choose from that are, frankly, cheaper than this. In the end, it kind of feels like you’re paying a premium to collect little horses for behind your bar. There’s a reason the awesome “work horse” brands we love exist and that’s because they’re really darn good and I don’t see any reason to poo poo them just because they’re cheap. Just like something that is expensive isn’t necessarily good. At 86.6 proof, the single barrel bourbon boasts its balanced flavor profile. My reasoning behind this has to do with the Evan Williams Experience being located in downtown Louisville. So it would make sense to distill, age and bottle that whiskey nearby. If you want to get seriously cheap, one way to do that is to reach for blends and whiskeys aged in used barrels.It has a melon, spicy cinnamon aroma and a delicate and warming finish. The cinnamon flavor is not overwhelming and has the right flavor balance. Evan Williams Apple Evan Williams is more than likely chill filtered before it’s bottled. That’s not a terribly big deal because a majority of Heaven Hill products are too. But it does make me curious what kinds of flavors might be lost because of it.
