About this deal

Efficient, lightweight, and incredibly versatile. The Yamaha DBR10 boasts a high-performance Class-D amplifier that can deliver up to 700-watts of thunderous power. Combined custom-designed transducers, including a 10'' high-output woofer and precise 1'' compression driver, the DBR10 is capable of pumping out a hefty maximum SPL of 129dB. Perfect for filling your room with crystal clear sound with outstanding dynamic characteristics. With state-of-the-art DSP and technologies from Yamaha's professional DSR and DXR series, you have pure high-resolution sound that is suitable for any output level. Like most PA speakers, this speaker occupies M8 rigging points and a 50-degree rear corner angle. This allows the speaker to double as a floor monitor. The speaker also allows freedom for mixing facilities. For example, in case of a simple job, the speaker has to be used in a stand-alone mode.

For customers in outlying areas of the country, the price of the Extended Warranty may be marginally higher, due to the potential for higher collection and redelivery transport costs. When you really start to crank things up a notch, it's good to know your speakers won't go pop at the critical moment. DBR Series cabinets feature built-in DSP Protection, which helps protect the speaker and cone at higher volume levels. However, the Gear4music extended warranty scheme provides an enhanced service, and is designed to offer a higher level of protection than many 'free' warranties offered by some retailers and manufacturers. One needs to use a mic that does not require phantom power to connect it directly to the speaker. The sound then produced is also clearly projected towards the audience. The speakers are unique in handling acoustic guitar and other keyboard sounds. High-Efficiency 1000W Class-D Amplifiers - The DBR's lightweight, high performance Class-D amplifier is capable of producing up to 1000W* of power, achieving an SPL of 132dB, delivered with remarkable clarity and dynamic characteristics.

The angled case of the speaker makes it possible to be placed horizontally when used as a stage monitor. The small size, lightweight, and handle placement make carrying around this speaker in between gigs easier. The portability of the speaker leads to more accessible transportation. Yamaha DBR10 Speaker Features: A Rugged, Highly Portable Cabinet - DBR Series speakers feature a compact, lightweight, and durable plastic cabinet which offers the highest level of portability of all Yamaha powered speakers. The sleek steel grille bolsters cabinet durability and protects the internal components while a newly designed ergonomic handles provide effortless transportation and system setup. Volume in decibels decreases by 6 decibels for every doubling of distance. The further away your audience is from the speaker the more volume you’ll need.An angle of 90 degrees’ horizontal and 60 degrees’ vertical is used for horn coverage. The base of the cabinet body comprises a 35mm pole mount. The body itself is molded and has a top handle, which is carefully placed. It's never a fun task having to haul a PA system around. Whether it's to and from the gig, or even just changing positions when you're there. That's why Yamaha's DBR series has been built with portability in mind. With compact, lightweight, and ultra-rugged plastic cabinets, DBR loudspeakers are a breeze to carry and move, with newly designed ergonomic handles that make transport easy.

My only real complaint was I'd like to see the handle modified so that it's not just a slot but something you can grip like a handle. If you have strong fingers this isn't a problem but I'm older (64) and it's not as easy for me. Yeah, that's a wussie complaint but heh, fingers aren't as strong as they used to be. As mains, the church I was using them at had only one complaint—they looked too small. I had to grill them to get them to admit they sounded full and big and they finally admitted it. This was in a 200 seat ballroom and they had plenty of headroom for the typical guitar/keyboard duo. Keys sounded huge through them too. I was running four—two on the floor in stereo and two as mains with an Allen & Heath QU-SB digital board and an iPad. DBR Series powered loudspeakers harness the same state-of-the-art Yamaha DSP, amplifier and speaker technologies developed for the professional DSR Series and DXR Series lineups, ensuring high-resolution sound at any output level. High-Efficiency 1000W Class-D AmplifiersIf you need to plug a mic directly into the speaker, it needs to be of the type that doesn’t require phantom power, and the sensitivity may also be a little lower than you’d be used to with a mixer, but it will get you by for announcements or musical applications where effects are not required. It’s always better to have this facility than not as it could get you out of trouble if somebody pours beer into your mixing desk halfway through a gig! I/O connectors INPUT1: Combo x1, INPUT2: Combo x 1 + RCA pin x 2 (Unbalanced), OUTPUT: XLR3-32 x 1 (CH1 Parallel Through or CH1+CH2 Mix) I had been planning to get the DXR10s but took a chance on the DBRs -- which are 1/3 cheaper. Although I think the DXRs would be a bit more versatile and capable of filling a larger room with sound, for my purposes I'm glad I saved the money. (I could've saved a little more by skipping the sub and going with a pair of DXR15s, but then I would've lost grab-and-go versatility.) The speaker is also loaded with a transducer, an amplifier, and DSP technologies. The DSP technology is a staple for Yamaha’s high-end speaker models. The frequency response of the speaker is around 55Hz to 20kHz.
