This mold might have been planned for a redeco into Sports Label Starscream, but that's a bit vague. Universes continue to collide! Transformers: Legacy brings together fan-favorite characters from across the Transformers multiverse. Figures feature deco inspired by their universe with an updated Generations design. In honor of the almost 40-year legacy of Transformers entertainment, the fandoms come together from across the Transformers multiverse, all in one toy line.

A gold redeco of the original MP-5 mold, Megatron Gold Version is a Hasbro Asia release under the TakaraTomy label (making it the first TakaraTomy Masterpiece to not be released, thus far, in Japan). It comes with all the same accessories as the original release as well as a new, non-transforming Reflector in camera mode. There is a message written in Cybertronian letters on Megatron's box art, which reads "RISE FROM THE SHADOWS". Megatron's pose in the instruction manual's front cover is based on the promotional artwork by Guido Guidi.

This mold was also used to make Timelines Deathsaurus. In addition to being Megatron's body in Dawn of the Predacus, the BotCon 2016 toy was also used as Megatron's Beast Upgrade body in Beast Wars: Uprising. Two more Auto Rollers: an APC and a jet. Those eventually ended up being used by Takara for the Japanese version of the Beast Wars line (as Autolauncher and Autojetter, respectively). Elsewhere, an entirely separate race of Transformers, descended from the Decepticons, who prefer to think of themselves as Cybertronians, are discovered in the far reaches of known space. The Autobots find themselves attempting to deal with this new threat, while also struggling to protect the Earth from the danger posed by the "original" Decepticons.Much like most 2020 Selects products, the toy is only branded as part of the War for Cybertron Trilogy and not Earthrise.

This mold was additionally used to make the purple-recolored Megalligator (indicated to be Generation 1 Megatron), released individually to be his own character Megalligator and was proposed for Albitron, which never reached fruition. The Iguanus version was used for Crazybolt.Generation 2 saw more-or-less simultaneous release in the US and European markets, but Japan would not start the line (or even have any Transformers product at all on shelves, for that matter) until 1995.
