About this deal

Followed on by the badgers and the bowling shoes, the multi colour shoe epitomized the MOD revival. This though, is where I think this style hasn’t aged well. So maybe you are starting to think that I just think everything looks dated, well I suppose most of them do, there is a but coming though. For all the lovers of mod fashion, and for the men and women who love footwear that takes influence from the style and music scene that was prevalent in the 60s, we have a pair of shoes or boots for you. The year ended with the mini album Introducing The Style Council which was released only in Japan, Australia, Holland, Canada and the US containing their recorded output to date, but still sold well in Dutch Import sales alone. You see some lads on rallies in the shoes today. I dont have a problem with it, but some turn their noses up at them. I am not sure we are going to see a revival of red white and blue jam shoes any time soon. But as we all know MOD is built on snobbery! Endorsed by Neville Staple of The Specials – These are Delicious Junction Rudeboys

You will see we’ve from our categories and range from the top mod brands such as Dr Martens and the iconic Ikon Classics - whether you want to dress up smart and add that mod distinct style or you are wanting something more casual but doing so in a unique and dress up manner. You can see that we can cater for it, offering a range of authentic mod shoes to add some serious style points to your look. All mod hoes on sale are subject to Free Fast Delivery within the UK.When “Going Undeground” got to number 1 in 1980 the UK was in full MOD Revival swing. And there on Bruce Foxtons feet in the video was a pair of Jam Stage Shoes. Original by name and by nature, every pair has been carefully designed in a classic way with a modern twist. Since 1997, these shoes have been a love letter to the mod style that has been a mainstay of the UK fashion scene since the 60s. The first line of their 1984 single My Ever Changing Moods with its Isley Brothers soul-funk groove was another big hit (UK No 5), including for the first time the US where it reached top 30 – Weller’s highest single chart position there; before or since. The success of the single meant that their debut album Café Bleu released in March was renamed after the single in the US. In terms of MOD I think it is the dandy look that came in the later sixties, as some mods went ‘dandy’ pre hippy look, whilst the rest went Hard Mod / Skinhead. Classic Carnaby Street from The Troggs

As you can tell I like this shoe. A very cool picture of Brian Jones in Two colour shoes Jagger in Co-respondent shoe. Brogues – With intricate detail and available in a range of colours, these brogues are a stylish choice for any outfit. This iconic footwear has been popular long since the days of Northern Soul and it shows no sign of slowing down. The Hearts only have one single where you can see their feet, and it is the classic Jimmy. In terms of dress The Purple Hearts always looked good to me, they were early adaptors of ‘op art’ shirts and their clothes fitted well. Now I wanted to draw attention to the styles because we call ourselves MOD Shoes. And I think that all the above styles fit in with the very “broad church” that we call MOD. We sell loads of loafers, which started making me think, in terms of numbers of people, are there more MODS of one type than another?Pete Townsend said that a lot of the groups followed the audience rather than the other way round, so I suspect the look was very Carnaby Street . Bands like The Troggs and The Creation have elements of the sixties look that suits the Two Tone shoe. I am not sure if Melandi made them and welcome an answer on that one. You still see them about on scooter rallies in th UK. Personally, as a shoe, I think they look pretty good and as style I think the pointy look goes in and out of fashion Available in a bunch of luxury materials and stunning designs, you can’t go wrong with a pair of Ikon shoes. Always made to an exceptional standard, the shoes in this collection are the perfect designer footwear to add a splash of style to any outfit.

Around our way these shoes were everywhere, especially at our school. Go into town and you would meet others that were stamping the allegiance to the Jam also wearing them. For those with Spotify here is the above list as a playlist. Mo-dettes songs is “white mice” and couple of the tunes are live recordings. http://open.spotify.com/user/movingupmedia/playlist/6ZgmnMe3aARSqeThU1SKnC What am I trying to get at here? My main aim is really just trying to think what should we be trying to find for our customers. It is ok for me to think they are smart and never sell a pair, whereas others sell loads! And there’s plenty more mod footwear available in our Ikon Original shoes collection to take a look at. I do want to say before we start, that I am not going to do The Jam. They really require several articles to themselves. I am going to include some Two Tone, because despite protests of not being strict Mod, they did influence literally 1000s of us. Also I am not going to go on about the merits of the bands, that’s a book’s worth of text.
