People from the outside who don't know them would have seen them as a toxic couple, but Cassidy and Max know each other best and what they want from each other so that other people's opinions don't matter.But, it's a solid mafia duet, and as somebody who has never even been to Australia, I love that it's set in Australia. I relish the elevated romance within The Duet as the lines between love, desire, and obsession begin to blur creating an eruption of forbidden passion and ecstasy.
I think every single woman could read this book and find something in it that starts a fire inside them. You know when you’re reading books and you have a few really good ones but then there’s the ones in between that are mediocre at best…THEN ALONG COMES THE ONE YOU’VE BEEN WAITING FOR. He is also known to be a playboy and claims he doesn’t do monogamy, yet he is different around his 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞. It is written in a way that allows the reader to read one of the brothers' stories and feel satisfied without reading the entire six book series. He keeps coming around and despite being so young, cassidy questions what he feels when they're together.There's a lot of push and pull between the couple, Max doesn’t want to taint Cassidy by bringing her into his world but can’t stay away from her and Cassidy wants to be with Max but she ends up questioning her morals. Cassidy is quite young and naive, sometimes painfully so, but I think this is how she's supposed to be portrayed. Oh Nicci Nicci Nicci, just when I thought my poor heart couldn't take another beating you reached through the pages, ripped it out, and ran it through the grinder shredding me completely. This book was all kinds of wonderful, beautiful, heartbreaking, tear jerking, breath stopping amazingness.
