About this deal

Christian readers should like this heartfelt story with its moral tone, as should anyone interested in the history of the Mohawk Valley, including Fort Stanwix, the Oneida Carry, and the battle at Oriskany. Despite a few explicit words used within its pages, A Flight of Arrows is stunning and exquisite, threaded with turmoil and sorrow and redemption and much love. Being made from a variety of materials, namely woods, horn, ivory, and metal, a siper could help an archer propel its small flight bow greater distances. The “corners” of the lips at the inner sides of the nock were well rounded, to facilitate knocking th arrow.

Flight of Arrows A short piece on the different stages and pieces used to replicate the intense beauty of the arrow of the 17Th century.

This was the case in October 2015 when I read Lori Benton's The Wood's Edge, the prequel to this selection. William never knew he was actually Indian, and didn’t find out until he came back from school in England. This archer was apparently quite accomplished as his name is recorded on arrow fields all throughout Turkey. The story is slow and confusing, the herald seemingly focusing on non related issues which happened a long time before the story.

I was provided with an advanced reader copy of this book by the publisher in exchange for my honest review , which I have given, and my opinions are my own. archery is a type of archery competition where archers shoot at three-dimensional targets, often in the shape of animals or other objects. Lori handled the battles in such a way that transported me to the forests in which the battles of that war took place.I loved Simon Merrivale, who as the Prince of Wales's Herald, seeks to find a murderer in an army geared for war. I see that some reviews complain of a slow story but I would rather have detail that requires patience and leads to real tension and drama than the whizz-bang type of thing that is so common in fiction from the penny dreadful onwards. Identity shattered, enlisted in the British army, William trains with Loyalist refugees eager to annihilate the rebels who forced them into exile. Here the lead characters embody the drama and conflict of the time, not all the English are perfect and not all the French are evil, but we are allowed to be committed to a solid patriotic sympathy for medieval England which does not descend into jingoism, for which thank you. His closest heir to the throne is Edward III of England, but it passes instead to Charles’ cousin, Phillip, spurring both countries on to war.

Flight arrows are commonly used in archery competitions where distance and accuracy are important factors.

A Flight of Arrows will be on my Best of 2016 list and I believe The Pathfinders Series is a top pick for book clubs. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item.

There’s also a rather snarled complexity to the book, partly just due to the actual history, partly the involved conspiracy/plot, and to a large extent, the several dozens of names and noble or military positions and constellations thereof introduced throughout.

Those with six feathers have the ordinary feathers, like those with three or more, and between them and the horn nocking have three lower feathers, and their heads must be light. There were moments I quite literally held my breath as arrows left their bows or the sound of gunfire cracked in the vicinity. As I explored these issues and told this story of adventure, love, war, family, sacrifice, and triumph, it became clear to me that it went deeper than words on the page, deep as an intimate conversation between me and a sovereign, loving God. My personal favorite character is Reginald, but that's not because anybody else in this rather large cast lacks equal depth. Now with the war closing in, both families must find a way to make peace…or perhaps lose everything.
