I would always break off a leaf from the Black Sage that grew on the hillsides all up and down the State. I didn’t want you to feel scared of wearing something from the ’70s, but after a couple of wears, you will start to notice a strange “funk”, even at the first spray.

This is unmistakenly a man's scent, and it isn't for young boys or for those who like Bleu de Chanel. After spraying on the arms, bizarrely one smelled of sandalwood and Roses, the other of angry lion shit.

It's an objet d'art, a visual representation of the craftsmanship that went into creating this fragrant enigma. And it doesn't remind me of any time, man or affair, just the memories that a really great scent evokes. There was no tester available but I just bought it because I remembered very well how it used to smell.

Well, while the original formula tried and succeeded in breaking common stereotypes, the current formula fell victim to stereotypes of which society got rid long ago, even before it was created.

I have had a bottle of this that I have used intermittantly for 15yrs, an 80s powerhouse powderbomb.

This incredible fragrance doesn't smell much like anything else besides Shalimar with maybe a bit of the animalic notes in Kouros.The drydown of this fragrance reminds me of English Oak and Hazelnut by Jo Malone London, but a bit stylized, less natural, and a touch sweeter.
