Taff’s Well is Wales’ only thermal spring and is in the south of Rhondda Cynon Taf, close to its boundary with Cardiff. It’s the perfect place from which to visit the fairytale Castell Coch (which is surrounded by a huge spooky forest) or the beautiful Garth Mountain walk.

This paranormal hotspot is as enchanting as it is terrifying. First built between 1819 and 1825, it was originally a family bolt hole to the countesses and lords of the Dundonald family. During world war II the Government used the castle to house 200 Jewish refugees . After the war the castle left the family and subsequently then opened to the public. One ancient legend tells of the Castles cruel Norman overlord Earl Neville, imprisoning a young monk within the dungeons. Loud bangs are still heard in the dead of night, poltergeist activity is rife, and the most famous of spectres is the classic Lady in White who wanders aimlessly around the maze of hallways the building has to offer. Dorothy is the first ghost that is reported to haunt the grounds of Plas Teg, Dorothy was the son of the esteemed Sir John Trevor I. Dorothy fell in love with Iorwerth who was a local farmer’s son, but because of the family status, her father banned her from seeing him. “Statue” by eltpics is licensed under CC BY-NC 2.0.

Because of her spirit and how unfairly she was killed, history has marked Gwenllian as a ferocious warrior and a free spirit. It is said that Gwenllian’s decapitated body still wanders the castle grounds looking for justice. A grey-hooded figure has allegedly been witnessed roaming through the castle and the bloody battlefield where she was killed. Devils Bridge, CeredigionLooking up from the cool shade of the gorge three picturesque bridges span three hundred or so feet above the twisting foaming waters of the river. A teenage runner who was run over in the 1930s on the route from Trimsaran to Strade, is the subject of the most famous legend from the creepy Stradey Woods. Many individuals have reported seeing the young man still in his vintage 1930s running attire. Even the neighbourhood police have admitted that they have received several calls about a young running guy. Why not pay a visit to these peaceful forests this Halloween and see if you can notice any spooky activities? Kidwelly Castle, Carmarthenshire Servants of the house were said to have feelings of unease and there were claims of people seeing an apparition of a lady in white on one of the staircases. Most Haunted host Yvette Fielding told us : "The castle is supposedly haunted by opera singer Adelina Patti and during our visit there we did an ouija board session on stage where we heard high pitched noises. We did a séance and played a vinyl record and had chairs and tables moving.

The house as it stands today was built in the 1660’s by Edward Rice, although its present façade was added in Victorian times. We have come to the last location on our Haunted Houses tour of the most haunted locations in North Wales. It is located on the Isle of Anglesey, itself famed for its mythology, mystery and abundance of ghosts and phantoms. The 22-year-old housemaid Mira Turner is the subject of the most famous ghost story connected to Llanelly House. The story reports that the teenage maid became pregnant before ingesting laudanum poison and plunging herself down the stairs. Numerous employees, guests, and ghost hunters reported seeing Mira wander the Georgian house’s upper floors. Over the following centuries, the “corpse candles” became one of Aberglasney’s most abiding legends. In fact the only possible explanation they could think of was that vibrations from the Great Hall above must be responsible. Interestingly it was just one portion of the ceiling that was affected and that section was the one directly beneath the dais where the ghostly footsteps were known to walk. The status of Adelina Patti and the reports of her still roaming the house are enough to make this property a famous location for any fans of paranormal occurrences, but the unexplained phenomena in Craig Y Nos also add to its haunted status. From hearing a bump in the night to supposed demonic possession, Wales has several interesting properties that have many reports of ghostly sightings.
