MGM and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment bring 'RoboCop' to Blu-ray as newly remastered in 4K HD resolution and dubbed the "Unrated Director's Cut. Loaded with the same excellent collection of bonus features as Arrow's Blu-ray release but also includes a poster and booklet, this two-disc UHD limited edition package makes for a highly recommended addition to every collector's 4K library.

Beyond those Limited Edition extras, the package itself is excellent and utterly comprehensive although - as is now standard for Arrow - there is a question mark over whether it offers anything that fans won't already have from their Arrow Blu-ray set (and what fans don't own that? RoboProps features a tour of super-fan Julien Dumont’s collection of memorabilia (also giving us a peek at the dailies in his collection). Special Effects: Then and Now (SD, 18 min) — Exactly as the title implies, interviews discuss the production design and special optical effects of the period and how they were accomplished. But while cleaning up the streets of violence-ravaged Detroit, Robocop is tormented by memories of his former life, and now he's out for more than justice. In the Easter Egg (which is listed on the main menu and not hidden), Paul Verhoeven discusses his brief cameo in the film.

A terrific visualist with a penchant for over-the-top violence, he also nailed the action and science fiction genres over the head, while at the same time putting his own personal stamp on his work. a future so deeply commercialized and desensitized to violence that the public has turned into submissive, obedient subjects of corporations slowly overreaching their function and power.Whether you own any of the previous releases of RoboCop on Blu-ray or not - this is the release to occupy prominent shelf space in your collection! Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. Regarded as a key influence on science fiction cinema and cited by numerous filmmakers, the film was remade with rather less impact in 2013. The case is housed in book packaging and comes with a booklet containing new essays and interviews, a reversible poster, lobby cards, and a sticker.

Granted, this is noticeably more pronounced and thicker during the optical effects with the ED-209 droid, and those same sequences have not aged well, looking comparably soft and poorly resolved.unlike anything anybody had ever seen before, and, really, unlike anything anybody would ever see again. The audio menu states that “To enjoy multidimensional audio with the Dolby Atmos track, set the audio output of your player to Bitstream mode, and disable BD Secondary Audio in its setup menus.

The Improvements also include the Director’s cut footage, which on previous Blu-ray releases that I’ve owned had clearly not been remastered. For the week that ended on April 16th, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's Spider-Man: No Way Home topped the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its debut, while Sony's Spider-Man: 3-Movie Collection came in second place on the Blu-ray chart.

Then again, those moments also reveal the heavy use of make-up, and since no one in the cast looks disturbingly waxy, it's safe to assume it's only an illusion caused by the thickly-applied make-up combined with the excellent high-def resolution.
